The decision at the heart of it

A powerful pair can win this exchange and shape the next shuffle. Keep it available by washing, or freeze it without giving the opponent a bonus.

Two cards make a stance. The next time they return may matter as much as their strength now.

Commit a pair in a simultaneous duel. Cuts bring power, Guards reduce wounds, and Preparation rewards the right technique beside it. Compare the revealed stances, resolve defenses, and try to outlast your opponent across at most twelve exchanges.

Learn new techniques as the duel develops. A Lunge hits hard, a Ward combines strength and defense, a Feint punishes particular opposing choices, and an Echo draws power from its partner.

When your deck recycles, choose how your last pair returns to the contest. Seal it out until a later recycle to change your available mix, or Wash it back in while giving your opponent a temporary power bonus. Shape the next hand without losing sight of the current wounds.

How a game unfolds

  1. Secretly choose two cards for power, defense and technique effects.
  2. Reveal both stances, resolve wounds and learn new techniques at the marked exchanges.
  3. When your deck needs recycling, Seal the last pair or Wash it back in with an opponent bonus.
