The decision at the heart of it
Your own currents are certain; other passengers’ claims are evidence. Choose a route that serves your hidden patron without paying for a failed bluff.
Two routes cross the same dark water. Everyone has a reason to favor one of them.
In each of six ferry rounds, secretly commit a current card to each route. Declare what you contributed, signal a preference, and read the other passengers’ claims before casting your hidden vote. The chosen route reveals its actual current total: only a crossing inside its safe band delivers cargo.
Your private patron rewards particular cargo, so the safest-looking route may not be the one you want. A misleading claim can help steer the vote, but a false claim on a wrecked selected route costs points. The revealed crossings leave evidence for later decisions.
Balance the cargo you need, the currents you know, and the claims you choose to trust. Your patron remains private until the final reckoning.
How a game unfolds
- Commit one current card to each of the two routes.
- Claim what you played and recommend a route; your claims may be false.
- Vote, reveal the selected route, and score your patron’s cargo across six ferry rounds.
