The decision at the heart of it

A winning bid locks those exact notes beneath an exhibit. Returning the exhibit restores your bidding power but costs its place in your collection.

Your best bid may be trapped beneath yesterday's purchase.

Bid for clockwork exhibits with a small set of notes worth 1, 1, 2, 3 and 5. Choose a lot and commit actual free notes in a sealed offer. Winning notes stay deposited beneath the exhibit; losing bids return to your available capital.

From a later auction, an eligible exhibit can be returned to recover its original notes. Returning it also gives up the exhibit and its collection value. A three-place cabinet makes holding everything impossible, while attendance rewards the displays you keep on show.

Over six auctions, balance prestige, maker combinations, movement variety and ready money. Preview the next auction before deciding what deserves scarce capital now. The strongest collection is one you can afford to assemble and keep.

How a game unfolds

  1. Preview the auction and decide whether to return an eligible exhibit for its deposited notes.
  2. Choose a lot and secretly bid some of your available banknotes.
  3. Keep a collection that earns attendance and final exhibit bonuses across six auctions.
